Miami Heat combo guard Kendrick Nunn and Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant have been named the NBA's Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in December.

Nunn averaged 15.5 points, 3.9 assists and 3.3 rebounds for the Heat, while Morant put up 15.5 points and 6.5 assists for the Grizzlies:

Nunn has been a great story for the Heat. He went undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft. Nunn signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors on July 13, 2018, but was waived by the Dubs on October 12, 2018.

The Heat signed Nunn to a multiyear deal on April 10, 2019. He’s now the starting point guard in Miami and has been turning heads left and right with his stellar play.

Nunn is averaging 16.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game for the Heat while shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from beyond the arc and 78.8 percent from the free-throw line.

Morant, the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, is the new franchise player in Memphis in the post-Mike Conley era. The explosive guard is putting up 17.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 28 games and shooting 46.6 percent overall, 39.7 percent from the 3-point line and 78.9 percent from the charity stripe.

Since New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson has yet to make his regular season debut, Morant has a good shot at winning the Rookie of the Year Award, although Nunn figures to have something to say about that when it's all said and done.

Morant and the Grizzlies are likely going to miss the playoffs this season, while Nunn and the Heat have one of the best records in the Eastern Conference.
