LaVar Ball believes that letting his son LaMelo play professional basketball in Australia makes the most sense.

LaVar said that he thinks that their decision to play professional basketball with the Illawarra Hawks instead of playing college basketball is the best path to the NBA. The elder Ball pointed out that it was a collective decision, and he is confident that his son will be able to get a lot of attention before he jumps to the NBA next year.

“We made this decision together man on the fact that I want to do the best by my son,” LaVar told Julian O'Brien of the Illawarra Mercury. “Melo's been around the world already. Melo knows what he wants now. We've been to Lithuania where the guys don't even speak English. It's one of the steps he had to go through to realize this right here.”
