Paul Pierce is widely regarded as one of the greatest players to have ever dawned the Boston Celtics uniform. As it turns out, however, no one thinks more highly of Paul Pierce than Paul Pierce himself. A testament to this fact is Pierce's recent statement comparing himself to the likes of Jayson Tatum, Jimmy Butler, and Luka Doncic.

To see (or hear) is to believe, so here's a clip of Pierce comparing himself to all three of these stars in the span of a couple of minutes (h/t FadeAway World on Twitter):

To be fair to Pierce, he does make quite a case for his comparison with Tatum. After all, they both represent Boston's colors, so most Celtics faithful are likely to agree with him here. The same can be said about Pierce's decision to liken himself to Butler. Much like the Miami Heat star, Pierce never backed down against anybody.

The Luka Doncic comparison, however, is questionable — at best. You know that Jalen Rose himself could not get on board with Pierce's self-assessment, as made evident by Rose's unforgiving laugh after hearing Pierce's claim.

Then again, Pierce explained his side relatively well. He stated that he wasn't the best of passers during his heyday — something that Doncic has gained a bit of a reputation for — and that his similarity with the Mavs guard lies with the latter's ability to make his own shot. In this respect, we have to agree with The Truth.

Nevertheless, this segment makes for a good laugh, as usual.
