Former NBA superstar Shaquille O'Neal was the latest to dish on the G.O.A.T. debate, appearing as a guest on ESPN's Get Up to give a surprising pick for the greatest player of all time.

O'Neal has been known to think of himself as the most dominant player of his era, he's said so himself multiple times. But ā€œThe Dieselā€ shocked many by picking Michael Jordan as the all-time greatest NBA player.

ā€œ[Michael Jordan] is definitely the greatest player. ā€¦ You can't say ā€˜I'm the greatest player,' you have to let your peers and everyone else say who the greatest player is.ā€

Jordan is by no means the most decorated player to lace them up in the NBA. After all, there still is a Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and a Bill Russell with a cornucopia of accolades that can make that conversation.

Yet it's Jordan's poetry-like pursuit for greatness and movie-friendly story that makes him so appealing. His two three-peats are historic in nature. Couple that with an impromptu retirement to pursue baseball in the minor leagues, coming back to dominate the league, creating his own brand.

The tales of his greatness are simply endless, making him a must-say name in the conversation for the greatest of all time.

O'Neal was undoubtedly the most unstoppable player of his NBA era, but it seems like he also knows how to give others his fair due. The Big Aristotle faced up against Jordan as a member of the Magic and later on as a member of the Lakers, able to see his prowess as a player from two different perspectives.
