Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed a record-setting deal on Monday, one which NBA stars Trae Young and Luka Doncic took notice of.

Mahomes' deal could actually surpass half a billion dollars. With that said, Young is looking forward to the Super Bowl-winning quarterback picking up the check next time they eat together, while Doncic made sure to give a shutout to Mahomes on Instagram.

For what it's worth, Trae Young and Luka Doncic are going to get paid once they become eligible for their rookie-scale extensions.

However, the two NBA youngsters aren't going to come even close to Patrick Mahomes' deal, which is the richest contract in sports history.

Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks will be playing basketball again soon, as the 2019-20 season will be resumed on July 30 at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Unfortunately for Young, his Atlanta Hawks had the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference before games were suspended in March, so Atlanta wasn't invited to Orlando.

Young finished the 2019-20 NBA season with averages of 29.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 9.3 assists. He also shot 43.7 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Doncic, meanwhile, was putting up MVP numbers for the Mavs prior to Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert's positive COVID-19 test. The new franchise player in Dallas was averaging 28.7 points, 9.3 boards and 8.7 assists, all while shooting 46.1 percent from the floor, 31.8 percent from the 3-point line and 75.2 percent from the charity stripe.
