Just like a schoolyard dodgeball draft, grudges and feelings know no bounds. In tonight's NBA All-Star Draft, featuring captains of Lakers forward LeBron James and Nets forward Kevin Durant, the last choice of the night fell upon the Brooklyn superstar. While claiming size and interior defense were the key factors in mind, Durant would make the difficult choice (for the seventh time) between freshly traded former Nets guard James Harden and another NBA All-Star.

The decision from the Nets star, which came as a shock to no one, would be Jazz center Rudy Gobert. A choice that would make NBA Twitter collectively lose their minds as Durant already had 76ers center Joel Embiid and Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns locked in on Team Durant.

LeBron couldn't believe KD passed on his ex-Nets teammate so many times:

Just hours before the draft, Harden, along with teammate Paul Millsap, was traded from the Nets to the Philadelphia 76ers after Harden unofficially requested a trade. The unofficial request was reportedly made as Harden's camp feared an official request would bring about public backlash.

Talk about a backfire.

The trade would be the second time Harden has been moved at the deadline in as many seasons, as he requested a trade out of Houston in early 2021. Harden was subsequently traded to Brooklyn while the Rockets would get guard Dante Exum and Rodions Kurues in return. Today's trade, a much larger haul for the Nets, would garner a return of embattled guard Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round draft selections.

Harden and Team LeBron will square off against his former teammate and Team Durant next Sunday in Cleveland. A game that will surely require more attention after a tumultuous NBA Trade Deadline.
