Shortly after the Golden State Warriors mustered a record-breaking performance for threes made in a game along with the Sacramento Kings, the Dubs and the New Orleans Pelicans combined for a new NBA record, hitting 43 combined 3-pointers on Wednesday night's high-scoring affair, according to ESPN's Nick Friedell.

The Warriors and Kings had combined for 41 two weeks ago, but the former's recent surge shooting the ball from deep has them flirting with history in a nightly basis.
It surely didn't hurt that the Pelicans were locked-in, hitting 19 of their 37 attempts from beyond behind Nikola Mirotic (6-of-10) and Jrue Holiday (4-of-9) leading the way. Even unlikely 3-point shooters like Julius Randle (3-of-3) and Elfrid Payton (1-of-3) joined the party.
Stephen Curry did his damage in the third quarter after starting 2-of-8 from the floor, hitting seven 3-pointers in the period as he activated human-torch mode, becoming the first player to make eight 3-pointers or more in three consecutive games.

Curry was coming off hitting eight against the Denver Nuggets and an 11 3-pointer performance against the Dallas Mavericks, making that a whopping 28 made threes in the last three games.
The era of high-volume and high-efficiency 3-point shooting is surely upon us, and it likely won't be long before two teams start firing in all cylinders and flirt with this mark — one that has the bar set pretty high by two teams that had it going during this offensive slugfest.
