Multiple teams are interested in trading for Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers are among the teams in the market for Rose, also noting the former NBA MVP's history with Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau:

New York and the Clippers are among interested teams in Pistons guard Derrick Rose, sources said. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau has a long history with Rose, coaching the former league MVP in Chicago and Minnesota.

The 32-year-old has revitalized his career in the Motor City. Rose averaged 18.1 points and 5.6 points while shooting 49 percent from the floor during the 2019-20 campaign, and his per-36 minutes looked quite similar to his 2010-11 MVP campaign.

Rose is averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals through his first 12 games this season, though he is also averaging fewer minutes per contest. His veteran presence and scoring at the point guard position would undoubtedly appeal to a number of teams, including the Knicks and Clippers.

New York is currently starting Elfrid Payton at the point, with Austin Rivers and Immanuel Quickley among guards getting minutes off the bench. None have the same kind of shot-creating ability as Rose, though Quickley can fill it up in spurts.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, lacks depth behind starting point guard Patrick Beverley. The strong play of Nicolas Batum and the presence of Luke Kennard have rendered Lou Williams mostly useless. Los Angeles might look to move his expiring deal in a swap for Rose if the Clippers can scrap together other pieces.

Rose will be a free agent at the end of the season.
