The Toronto Raptors' 125-122 double-overtime victory on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics was mired with controversy at the final buzzer, with both teams exchanging words following the tightly fought encounter. One of the issues after the game was the involvement of Raptors head coach Nick Nurse in a crucial Jayson Tatum turnover down the stretch.
The Celtics were unhappy with how Nurse served as a distraction for Tatum, and they felt that this alleged violation played a key role in how the game played out. This reports comes via Sam Amick of The Athletic:
Sources say the Celtics were furious about this play, as Nurse had come out to the corner of the court to get a better look at how Boston handled his defensive scheme and, in their minds, created the illusion of a passing target for Tatum in the process.
For their part, the Raptors did their best to play down the incident. In their minds, Nurse's gray shirt should have been easy to distinguish from Boston's green uniform. For them, Nurse is clearly not at fault here.

After the game, Celtics swingman Jaylen Brown spoke about the heated ending between the two sides, and he even seemed to take a veiled shot at Toronto's coaching staff.
Tatum himself opened up about the incident, and he took the blame for the turnover. According to the Celtics stud, Nurse is in the clear.
Things are only going to get more intense from here on out, with these two sides expected to leave everything on the floor in a pivotal Game 7 contest on Friday.
