Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge has been in Beantown for 26 years as a player and now a front office executive. He's never witnessed racism from fans and he is clearly calling out Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving for his latest comments.
Irving spoke out after Brooklyn's Game 2 win over the Celtics and voiced how he's hoping to not hear any racist remarks from the fans when he returns to TD Garden on Friday night after playing there for two seasons.
Ainge meanwhile, appeared on a Boston radio show and discussed his stance on Irving's comments.
Danny Ainge on @Toucherandrich on Kyrie Irving’s comments: "I think that we take those kind of things seriously. I never heard any of that, from any player that I’ve ever played with in my 26 years in Boston. I never heard that before from Kyrie and I talked to him quite a bit."

It's honestly hard to know what's the truth or not, but the Celtics faithful were definitely not always kind to Kyrie. He failed to live up to expectations in Boston, losing in the Conference Finals and Semifinals.
The Celtics were even more upset after Irving promised to re-sign with the team but ultimately left town to link up with Kevin Durant in Brooklyn. Former Celtics big man Kendrick Perkins, who is a regular on ESPN, also backed Ainge's comments.
“To be honest, I know that Celtic fans are some of the best fans in the world,” he said, via LA Times. ” I never dealt with any type of racism while I was living in Boston. That’s just me, personally. I never dealt with it. I don’t know.
Nevertheless, expect Irving to get a rude welcoming in Game 3 from all of the Boston supporters.
