Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter is extremely high on his new teammates, the young wings Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

I think [Brown and Tatum] both have the potential to be All-Stars this year. I think they have all of the tools – they’re hardworking guys, they’re willing to learn, they have amazing character on and off the court and they’re amazingly talented. I think for Jaylen and Jayson the ceiling is, of course, to be All-Stars. With their work ethic and leadership, I definitely think they can take our team to the next level and take us really, really deep into the playoffs. I’ve already met Jaylen; he’s an amazing guy. We were actually playing two-on-two … It was amazing! I’m definitely very excited to play with those guys.

Kanter, a 6-foot-11 big man, last played for the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers during the 2018-19 NBA season. When the tailspinning Knicks prioritized their younger players, they waived Kanter, who found a spot on the Blazers, eventually going to the Western Conference Finals with Damian Lillard and company.

The Celtics and Kanter will need Tatum and Brown to take leaps in their respective developments for next season, as key contributors and All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Al Horford are gone; Boston in return went out to sign Kanter and Kemba Walker.

Both Brown and Tatum, two wings, made the All-Rookie team in their respective freshman seasons in the NBA, too, but it's time to take another step and lead the Celtics forward.
