Boston Celtics fans will be glad to know that Evan Fournier is finally set to make his much-awaited return to the team following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The 28-year-old tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this April and has been under the league's health and safety protocols.
According to Celtics head coach Brad Stevens, however, Fournier has now been cleared to play:
Brad Stevens says Evan Fournier is available to play tonight, but will have a minutes restriction.

Evan Fournier hasn't played since April 4, so it isn't at all surprising that his minutes will be limited in his first game back. The 6-foot-7 swingman could be on a minutes restriction over the next few Celtics games as he gets his conditioning back. We can also probably expect a bit of rust from Fournier considering how he's been out of action for an extended period.

It is worth noting that Fournier was also placed in the league's health and safety protocols back in March. This caused a delay in his Celtics debut following his mid-season move from the Orlando Magic. He was able to play a handful of games for his new team before being forced to sit out the next few weeks.
The Celtics take on the mighty Brooklyn Nets on Friday in what should be a tremendous matchup between two of the top teams in the East this season. The Nets have long been title favorites, so this will be a good test for Boston and their championship aspirations this 2020-21.
Brooklyn will be without both Kevin Durant and James Harden on Friday though, so the Cs hope to defeat a shorthanded Nets side at Barclays Center.
