Point guard Isaiah Thomas is nearly a season removed from his MVP year with the Boston Celtics. However, it seems his respect for head coach Brad Stevens has never wavered.

Toronto Raptors head coach Dwayne Casey was recently named the NBCA's Coach of the Year as voted on by fellow peers. Meanwhile, Thomas made it known that there is only one clear-cut choice for who is at the top:

No way in hell Brad Stevens doesn’t win Coach of the year. No disrespect to the other head coaches but He’s by far the best coach in the NBA

Thomas' praise should hardly come as any surprise. He enjoyed the best spurt of his career under Stevens with two All-Star selections and an MVP-caliber season last year. That said, Thomas knows firsthand what a coach like Stevens is able to get out of his players. Fortunately, there are many who feel the same as he does, and for good reason.

Stevens led the Celtics to a 55-27 finish this season despite losing star forward Gordon Hayward in the season opener. He had also guided them to a strong finish without point guard Kyrie Irving for the final 22 games of the regular season. Boston is now on the brink of their second consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearance.
Needless to say, Stevens has developed a pretty strong case to back up Thomas' argument. However, it is clear that everyone but the other NBA coaches seems to think he is deserving of such an award.
