The Boston Celtics have officially ruled out Jaylen Brown against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday due to his ankle injury.
Brown sustained the injury early in the first quarter of Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks. He tweaked his right ankle during a drive, causing him to fall in pain and be forced out of the contest. He ended up playing just three minutes, though the Celtics still won 107-98 behind a 33-point explosion from Jayson Tatum.
Unsurprisingly, Brown missed Wednesday's practice, and just moments later, the Celtics announced that he's out when they host Ja Morant and the Grizzlies at TD Garden.

Fortunately for Boston, Jaylen Brown's injury isn't too severe despite the tweak not looking too good in video replays. After Tuesday's game, head coach Ime Udoka played down the injury and even shared that the 25-year-old wing wanted to go back–suggesting that the issue is manageable.
Udoka also said Wednesday that Brown is “unlikely” to play against the Grizzlies. However, he expressed his belief that the injury is not long-term and they could have their young scorer back soon. Brown will be observed and evaluated in the next few days, but it certainly looks he's trending in the right direction.
After the Grizzlies, the Celtics face the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday and the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Hopefully, Brown is already with the team in those games.
