During the Boston Celtics' 118-102 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Christmas, Jaylen Brown played a critical role in their efforts.

By the end of the game, Brown managed to total 30 points, six rebounds and four assists while shooting an impressive 10-of-13 (76.9 percent) from the field, 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) from deep and 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) on free throws.

With Brown's 30-point outing, he became the youngest Celtics player to score at least 30 points on Christmas, per ESPN Stats & Info. At an age of just 23-years, 62-days, he also beat out Bill Russell by 619 days.

Brown stated after the game that getting a win in Toronto was “the perfect present” for him. After all, he had never won against the Raptors on the road in his NBA career.

“I think the win here in Toronto means the most, for sure,” Brown told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. “Been in the league for four years, I’ve never won in this building. To get a win here on Christmas is like, the perfect present. So I’m happy we got the win.”

It has been a strong season for Brown as he is averaging 20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 25 games for Boston. He is having by far the best season of his NBA career and has improved his output in each of the main statistical categories by a considerable margin.

The performance that Brown had against the Raptors will be the biggest part of his All-Star candidacy. Interestingly enough, the four-year, $115 million contract extension that Brown had signed in the offseason received strong criticism from many, but he is proving to be well worth the cost.
