Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker struggled from the field on Saturday night which became a huge factor in their narrow loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in a highly-anticipated rivalry game.

Despite Walker's dismal production, Jayson Tatum still supported his teammate and remained optimistic that he will get back on track in their coming games, via Jay King.

After the game, Jaylen Brown also shed light on Walker's performance and bared that the squad will need their point guard to be at his best if they want to achieve success, especially in the postseason.

“It didn’t go in tonight,” Brown said via The Athletic. “Kemba’s a great player and he knows, like, that’s a shot he’s going to make. So we’re going to need him. And he knows that for us to go far, we’re going to need him. So next game, forget about it, move on.”

Walker failed to gain momentum all throughout the game and only came out with a measly output of four points on 1/12 shooting from the field along with six rebounds, and four assists. He had a chance to redeem himself after a tough night when he hoisted a potential game-winning jumper with 2.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

His shot eventually bounced off the rim which was followed by a missed putback attempt by Daniel Theis as the Celtics ultimately absorbed a 96-95 loss against their longtime rivals. The Celtics dropped to a 10-8 record for the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference and further extended their losing skid to two games.

Despite his woes, Kemba Walker remains to be a pivotal part of the team, especially on offense with Marcus Smart now ruled out due to a calf injury sustained on Saturday night.

The four-time All-Star, along with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will need to come out with better performances as they aim for a victory when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 2.
