In the Boston Celtics' losses this 2022 postseason, there is one trend that always dooms them: turnovers. After their brutal Game 5 loss to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, Jayson Tatum sounded the alarm on that particular issue.

The Celtics committed 18 turnovers on Monday night, allowing the Warriors to score 18 points. Meanwhile, Golden State committed just six turnovers in the contest where Boston scored nine points off. Sure enough, that made a huge difference as the Dubs escaped with the104-94 victory.

Imagine what would have happened had the Celtics done a better job taking care of the ball. Perhaps they would have been lifting the Larry O'Brien trophy now.

Tatum knows very well what they are capable of, but turnovers are just killing them.

“We're hard to beat when we don't turn the ball over. And, clearly, we're easy to beat when we do turn the ball over,” Tatum said, per Jay King of The Athletic.

Jayson Tatum is one of the biggest culprit for the Celtics' turnover issues, though. In Game 5 alone, he committed 4 turnovers and broke LeBron James' record for most TOs in a single playoff run. He now has 95 TOs, and there's a good chance he adds more to his tally.

With the Celtics down 3-2 in the series, Jayson Tatum really needs to be as sharp as he can. If not, they are in real danger of losing in Game 6 and missing out on the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
