By being on Team USA, Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker believes he's accomplishing two things which are important for basketball players.

Walker says his Team USA experience is “a great opportunity to show some leadership and also humble myself.” The new Celtics point guard is one of the leaders of this Team USA group. Walker says everyone on the team knows they have to sacrifice some of the things they are used to doing for the greater good of the club.

“Everybody comes here knowing they’ll have to sacrifice some of the things they are used to doing for the greater good and they get that,” Walker said, via Sekou Smith of NBA.com. “And for me, having some experience and being one of the older guys here, it’s a great opportunity to show some leadership and also humble myself in this process.

“But the chance for these young guys to showcase their talents is really dope. I’m glad to be here with someone like [U.S. Coach Gregg Popovich] running it and to be a part of it, because normally these are guys I’m battling with every night and now we get a chance to work together. The sky is the limit for what they can do and I just love being a part of this stage of it all.”

On the Celtics, Kemba Walker will be able to take as many shots as he wants every night. On Team USA, though, that won't be the case since the club has so much talent on it.

Walker, and the other elite scorers on Team USA, will have to pick and choose their spots once the FIBA World Cup starts in China so everyone on the team is engaged. It will be good practice for Walker, who will have to make sure guys like Jaylen Brown, Gordon Hayward, Jayson Tatum and Enes Kanter get their fair share of touches once the Celtics season starts.
