People are now wondering if the Boston Celtics have what it takes to win an NBA championship after watching them play some outstanding basketball recently.

The Celtics' recent success can be attributed to their strong defense. The Celtics will usually get the job done on offense because they have two of the best scorers in the NBA in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but until recently, their defense wasn't really doing what they needed to do to be an elite team.

During NBA on ESPN, Kendrick Perkins had this to say about the Celtics and their title chances,

“[The Celtics] don’t have a ceiling! I believe that the East is wide-open. … [Jayson Tatum’s] been playing mad, he’s been playing angry!”

Kendrick Perkins is absolutely right in all he says. The Celtics have been playing like one of the top teams in the NBA for the past month, and there's no reason to believe they can't win an NBA title if they keep doing so.

The Eastern Conference, as he points out, is wide open. Teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, and Brooklyn Nets will not be easy to beat for the Celtics, but none of these teams has demonstrated to be much better than anybody else, so anything can happen come playoff time.

It's going to be a highly competitive Eastern Conference playoff where anyone can beat anyone if they're on their A-game.
