Just a little more than one week after injured Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving had screws removed from his surgically-repaired left knee, he was surprisingly seen already walking around on his own.
This caught quite a few people off guard, with one of those people being none other than Celtics head coach Brad Stevens. As reported in an article written by A. Sherrod Blakely of NBC Sports Boston, coach Stevens said that he too was pleasantly surprised by Irving being able to walk around already.

Irving's timetable to return to basketball activities remains at about four months, but this is still an extremely refreshing thing to hear about. Coach Stevens said that he also heard very good things from the Boston training staff about Irving's road to recovery.
“They feel great about his (progress),” Stevens said. “That’s encouraging. Again, he’s going to make a full recovery. Now that the screws are out we can see his early progress. It’s very good.”
Without Irving in the lineup throughout the postseason, the Celtics face an even steeper climb due to the absence of the All-Star guard. However, if there is one team in the NBA that has continued to fight through a ton of adversity throughout the 2017-18 season, the first one that comes to mind should definitely be the Celtics.
