A few weeks ago, Boston Celtics star point guard Kyrie Irving informally announced he plans on re-signing with the franchise in the summer of 2019. Still, that wasn't going to stop a group of Indiana Pacers fans from trying to get the superstar guard to come to Indiana.
The Celtics lost to the Pacers Saturday night. During the game, Kyrie Irving had a funny interaction with some Pacers fans who were recruiting the five-time All-Star, via Abby Chin of NBC Sports Boston:
Indy fans trying to recruit @KyrieIrving coming out of the time out. He told them, “I’m great here. I’m great.” And then laughed when they told him Indiana has good weather. 🤣

It was a good attempt by the Pacers fans, but Indiana and Boston have similar climates.
It would be fun to see Kyrie Irving and Victor Oladipo in the same backcourt, but the Celtics have a brighter future than the Pacers, plus more money to offer Irving in free agency.
Kyrie Irving will make $20.1 million this season. He has a player option for the 2019-20 season, but the guard is expected to decline that so he can enter the open market, where more money is available to him.
The Celtics are the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference this season. With both Irving and Gordon Hayward healthy, Boston is set up to contend for a championship.
Without Irving and Hayward during the 2018 postseason, Boston took LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals, so one would surmise the Celtics will be even more lethal with their two stars back this season.
