The Boston Celtics attempted 55 three-pointers Thursday night in their home win against the Milwaukee Bucks, and star point guard Kyrie Irving says the team will shoot more than that next time if the Bucks play that putrid on the defensive end.

The Celtics shot 24-of-55 from beyond the arc, good for 43.6 percent. Boston won by a final score of 117-113.

Kyrie Irving finished the game with 28 points and seven assists in 33 minutes of action. The All-Star guard shot an efficient 10-of-20 from the floor, 6-of-12 from the three-point line and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. With the win over the Bucks, the Celtics are now 6-2 on the young season.

Eight different Celtics player hit a three-pointer against the Bucks. Boston's ball movement was fantastic all night. It also helped that the Bucks' defense, which is usually pretty good, wasn't closing out on the shooters that well.

Just the other day, Celtics small forward Jaylen Brown said he and the team are trying to emulate the Golden State Warriors. Putting up 55 shots from the 3-point line and hitting 24 of them — a franchise record — is something right up against the Warriors' alley. Now let's see if Boston can keep that pace up and be consistent from beyond the arc for multiple games.
