The Boston Celtics are off to a less than ideal start to this season. They're currently holding a 9-9 overall record and have one of the lowest-rated offenses in the NBA. Obviously, some members of the team aren't playing up to their potential, and Marcus Morris sees a growing issue.

Morris has played well through the early stages of this season, but he says some of his teammates have been down on themselves.

“Sometimes it’s a little frustrating to see them getting down on themselves as hard as they are, and for their moods to be as bad as it is,” Morris told Jay King of The Athletic. “But at the same time, they’re young, man, and that’s what happens. You learn from it. And I was the same when I was younger. You learn from it just like anything else. So my biggest thing is hopefully down the road they figure it out. And like I said, it’s not just the young guys. We have guys that aren’t playing as well as they want and their moods haven’t been the best. Down the road, I just hope that we get it better. But we just have to focus on our energy around the team and focus on our next-play mentality, our next-game mentality, and just having better energy.”

Several members of the Celtics have displayed on-court frustration through the early stages of this season, so it's probably best that Morris didn't call anyone out in particular.

In his 17 appearances with the Celtics this season, Morris has racked up averages of 13.9 points on 48.6 percent shooting fro the field (44.9 percent from beyond the arc), 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 26.1 minutes per outing.

The Celtics will be back in action on Friday night, as they're scheduled to face the Atlanta Hawks on the road. Tip-off inside State Farm Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. EST.

According to an official report from the team, Celtics big man Al Horford will be held out of Friday's game due to a sore knee.
