The Boston Celtics managed to pull of a key win in Game 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks despite Marcus Smart being sidelined by a quad contusion. The Celtics are hoping Smart will be available for Game 3 with the series shifting to Milwaukee, and Smart offered an update on his status ahead of Saturday's showdown. Via Chris Forsberg, Smart revealed his quad is feeling okay but is “still a little sore.”

He's planning to take it day by day and see how the injury feels leading up to Game 3, for which he's hoping he'll be available. The Celtics will have had four days off between Tuesday's Game 2 and Saturday's Game 3, which certainly bodes well for Smart's chances at a return to the lineup.
Via Jared Weiss, Smart revealed he's been making progress and that some of the swelling in the quad has reduced.
Marcus Smart: "I'm better than I was. Some of the swelling's gone down…I did get beat up, but it's part of the game. It's just the quad, the fluid. Where I got hit was closer to the knee area, so a lot of the fluid went to the knee."

Smart and the Celtics are both hoping the reigning Defensive Player of the Year will be available in Game 3 as they look to steal a win on the road in Milwaukee. Smart sustained the injury during Game 1's loss, during which he took a beating, having also suffered a shoulder injury in the first half.
Marcus Smart says there’s a strong likelihood he’ll be back for Game 3.

Smart is confident he'll be good to go on Saturday, finishing his media availability on a positive note by saying there's a strong likelihood he'll return for Game 3, via Andrew Lopez. That's certainly music to the ears of Celtics fans who, despite the Game 2 win, will be delighted to have their starting point guard back in his usual role, should he be cleared for action.
In the Game 1 loss, Smart scored 10 points and provided 6 assists and 2 steals. He struggled shooting, however, going 3-for-11 from the field and 1-for-6 from beyond the arc.
