Paul Pierce is heading into basketball lore this weekend at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Ahead of Saturday's festivities, Pierce talked about his 15-year tenure with the Boston Celtics, where he took an underwhelming franchise to an NBA championship in 2008 with the assistance of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.

Pierce does have one regret from his time with the Celtics though, which he made very clear. Via NBC Sports Boston:

“The only regret I have is not winning that second one. That's it,” Pierce said.

Pretty self-explanatory. You can't blame him, either. With the first “Big 3” ever in the NBA, the Celtics were extremely stacked. “The Truth” also spoke on the whole process that saw Garnett come to Boston and why he thinks it worked out different than the super teams that are being built in today's game:

“It's different now. Players move around a lot. They manufacture their teams. The way we did it was a little different,” the Celtics legend said. “People will say I played on the new era super team, but it's like, we had to get lucky. We got lucky with the draft pick, we got lucky with the trade, we got lucky with Kevin Garnett dropping his no-trade clause.”

Paul Pierce will head into the HOF in Springfield alongside Chris Bosh, Ben Wallace, and Chris Webber as part of the class of 2021.
