The Boston Celtics are ready to deal the death blow to the Brooklyn Nets' season. Following two huge wins in the NBA playoffs, they are heading to Brooklyn up 2-0 and have made Kevin Durant look like a scrub so far. They could dominate even more if Robert Williams is able to return after his meniscus injury.
The Nets will likely get Ben Simmons back in Game 4 but the Celtics have an ace up their sleeve, too. Williams is a dangerous lob threat and versatile defender, which could help nerf the impact that Simmons could bring to the Nets.
Celtics head coach Ime Udoka said that Williams is doing well in his recovery. He said that the four-to-six seeks timetable Williams has been aiming for is on target.
Ime Udoka said Robert Williams will travel with the Celtics. He’s progressing well, has had no setbacks.
“That benchmark that we aimed (for) of 4-6 weeks is looking good.”

Unfortunately for the Celtics, Udoka said that there is no firm timetable for the Timelord to return to practice fully. Still, Williams has moved up to a new level of preparedness and is starting to do more contact work in practice, per Udoka. These steps may not seem important without a target date but they are key in Williams' rehab process.
Ime Udoka said that there is no timeline for Robert Williams to fully practice with the Celtics. But that Williams has "jumped up the level" and has been doing 3-on-3 and 4-on-4. Udoka also said Williams is "starting to do more contact work".

Boston's defense has given Brooklyn fits in this series. Durant has shot poorly and Kyrie Irving, after a huge Game 1, put up a pitiful Game 2. Jayson Tatum has shined on both ends of the court. Simmons coming back should change that but Williams will offset that.
The Celtics have been able to thrive despite the Robert Williams injury and will only continue to do so in the NBA playoffs if he can regain his full form again.
