Boston Celtics newly signed guard Jeff Teague has high praise for teammates Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
During a conference call with reporters on Saturday, Teague gave his early impressions playing alongside them.
“They’re the players that I thought they were, Teague said on Saturday, via Boston Celtics Twitter page. “And I think they’re both superstars.”
This past season, both Tatum and Brown took tremendous steps in their overall game. Together, they led the Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost the series 4-2 to the Miami Heat. Nevertheless, although Teague has only been with the team for about a few weeks now, he clearly sees the potential both players have.
Tatum, who's entering his fourth season in the league, led the Celtics with 23.4 points per game last season and also averaged seven rebounds, three assists, 0.9 blocks and 1.4 steals in 34.3 minutes per game. Furthermore, the 22-year-old forward also made his first NBA All-Star Game appearance in February. As for Jaylen Brown, he himself also had an impressive season last year in the 2019-2020 campaign. Brown averaged a career-high 20.3 points while shooting 38.2 percent from 3-point range last season.
During Teague's conference call with reporters, he also said that  Brown was one of the first Celtics to reach out to him when he signed with the Celtics. According to Teague, Brown showed him around the city and offered to help acclimate him in any way possible.

Nevertheless, the Celtics made some significant moves this past offseason by signing a backup point guard they desperately needed in Teague and a center in Tristan Thompson. With their new additions, they'll be seeking to win their 18th championship in franchise history this season.
