Despite his tumultuous free agency exit from the Utah Jazz, the coaching duo that brought the Boston Celtics their last title, Doc Rivers and Tom Thibodeau, shared why Gordon Hayward will be a relatively easy fit into the Beantown team's system coming into the season.

“I think he’s really humble,” Rivers said, according to CSNNE’s A. Sherrod Blakely. “His relationship with Brad (Stevens) will help as well, to channel that. You still have Isaiah (Thomas) there to take some of that pressure away. They’re going to be really good.”

While the original plan was to follow up Hayward's arrival with that of Paul George, Boston should still remain confident in the upgrade they've received in the scoring column — one that will cherish either the lead scoring role or a secondary one as long as the W's keep piling up.

“He scores so many different ways,” Thibodeau said. “You have to prepare for every situation… He’s a great catch-and-shoot guy, moves well without the ball, very good off the dribble, very good in pick-and-rolls. He puts enormous pressure on the defense at all times. His versatility, that’s probably the biggest thing. And he’s unselfish.”

“I think the way they (Celtics) play, who he is… I thought it was a great acquisition. He’ll fit in seamlessly.”

That's music to Celtics fans' ears, especially when it comes from two experienced coaches that know what bringing a championship to Boston is all about.
