There might not be a more polarizing NBA player today than Charlotte Hornets biggie Dwight Howard. Fans either love him or hate him. On Friday, however, fans at the TD Garden were decidedly anti-Howard, as they didn’t stop themselves from showing how much they despise the former All-Star.
During a mini-scuffle in the first half that involved Dwight Howard and Marcus Smart, the arena reverberated loudly with “Howard sucks” chants from Boston Celtics fans.

To his credit, though, the Hornets center took it in stride, even trying to play with the crowd by sarcastically egging them to ramp up the volume of their heckling.

Celtics reporter Marc D’Amico has a clip of Howard teasing the Celtics faithful.

Howard has been around the league for 13 years and he’s probably heard it all, so this is something he’ll not lose some sleep over. The Celtics, however, got the last laugh, as they trounced the Hornets, 90-87.
It probably made Celtics fans happier to see Dwight Howard struggle in the Hornets’ loss, as he scored just six points and committed seven turnovers.
