Rookies Lonzo Ball of the Los Angeles Lakers and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics tied to top votes for the best NBA career during Tuesday's 2017-18 NBA rookie survey. Both rookies netted an 18.4 percent of the total votes with Phoenix Suns forward Josh Jackson and Dallas Mavericks point guard Dennis Smith Jr. tying for second with 10.5 percent, trailed by Sacramento Kings' No. 5 overall selection De'Aaron Fox (7.9 percent).

Ball is one of the most dynamic passing talents of this generation of NBA players, able to pick out passes and open teammates regardless of the range or angle difficulty. His basketball IQ is advanced for his age and if he can develop a consistent form, his future can be as bright as some of the best to play the position. His size at 6-foot-6 and all-around athleticism have shown the right ingredients to make him a triple-double machine in the near future.

Tatum is one of the best small-to-power forward hybrids in recent history, thanks to his long wingspan and sense of timing to lunge for steals in the open court and block shots at the rim and even during one-on-one situations. The 6-foot-8 dynamo can develop as a two-way stud that can reap many benefits during his career.
