It's looking more and more like Gordon Hayward has already packed his things and is on his way out of the Boston Celtics. After officially opting out of his $34 million player option for the C's, it's now being reported that Hayward has indeed played his last season in Boston.

Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated reported that Gordon and his management's decision to opt out of a huge one-year deal should mean he probably has another agreement in place.

“It's likely he already has another deal on the table.” per Mannix (via NBC Sports). “There's simply no way that Hayward would walk away from this type of one-year deal without having some certainties out there at the free agent market. It certainly doesn't look like Gordon Hayward will ever play in a Celtics uniform again.”

Hayward's time in Boston hasn't been the greatest. Things started off terribly when he injured his left leg in the first six minutes of playing in a Celtics jersey after signing a huge four-year deal with the team in 2017. From then on, it's been an uphill battle for the Butler alum as he slowly tried to find his way back to All-Star form.

Last season was his first full season back and was finally able to start all of Boston's regular season games. He averaged 17.5 points and added 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game – his most since his lone All-Star season in 2017. Unfortunately, Hayward struggled with a few more injuries last season which forced him to miss a chunk of Boston's playoff games in the Bubble.

If indeed Hayward is looking to move to a new franchise, hopefully the swingman can continue on his journey back to being one of the best two-way wings in the league.
