Kevin Garnett will be remembered as one of the best defensive players of all-time. During his prime, his ability to cover a lot of space anywhere on the floor made him a nightmare to opponents.
He was able to defend guards, forwards, and centers alike.
The year he won the award for best defender in the league was also the season where he won his only championship as a member of the Boston Celtics. The team’s defense was a pest for everyone while anchored by Garnett on the floor.
Meanwhile, on the bench is the other half that’s responsible for the Celtics’ defensive schemes and that is Tom Thibodeau. The two were supposedly in for a reunion of sorts this season until Kevin Garnett announced his retirement.
As such, the new coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves gave out a statement regarding the future Hall of Famer.
