On Monday afternoon, the Milwaukee Bucks sent shock-waves into the NBA by firing their head coach Jason Kidd. The firing came unexpectedly and was a result of the Bucks' mediocre season. Still, the firing could have severe implications on the organization in the future, especially since the team is set on building around Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.

Giannis. Management and ownership need to be upfront with him on the direction of the team. Not easy having 3 and possibly 4 different HC in 5 years.

This report could actually be true, considering if the Bucks plan to show Antetokounmpo that the team is on the path to contention in the future. Antetokounmpo is undoubtedly the franchise star for the Bucks. The Bucks have invested millions of dollars in him to become their franchise centerpiece. Therefore, they should be upfront to him about the direction of the team. Most likely, Antetokounmpo probably knew that Kidd was going to be fired anyway. Still, it isn't healthy for an organization to shift through multiple head coaches. This action doesn't promote a winning culture and destroys any sort of team identity.

Moving forward, the Bucks will have to at least sit down with Antetokounmpo and discuss their intentions. Hopefully, this firing didn't catch Antetokounmpo off guard, and that it doesn't disrupt the Bucks' team chemistry. Nonetheless, one thing is entirely for sure. The Bucks will need to take an honest approach with their star player. Otherwise, he may just start to show some dislike for the Bucks down the road.
