Even if the Boston Celtics saw their 16-game winning streak end on Wednesday versus the Miami Heat, they were already successful in turning a lot of heads with their very strong start to the season.

Many were surprised to see the Celtics string that many wins together despite losing Gordon Hayward in their season opener, but their defense, which is perhaps their strongest suit, has made it possible.

For head coach Brad Stevens though, he is not in shock about the results they’re getting because he understands how important it is for players to always give the same intensity on that end of the floor. He also made it known that after seeing them play in their first few games, he already expected the Celtics to have this much success.

During their winning streak, the tea, gave up more than 100 points to their opponents only three times, which is a testament to the premium they’ve placed on playing good defense. The Celtics take pride in stopping their opponents' attacks.

If they will be able to sustain their strong play as the season progresses, the Celtics could be geared for a deep playoff run and live up to expectations as serious title contenders. It will definitely be bad news for the rest of the competition, as Boston will continue to be a very difficult team to beat.
