Kemba Walker will no doubt go down as one of the greatest Charlotte Hornets players when his career is over, and on Wednesday night he got one step closer to such an honor.

He passed Dell Curry to become the all-time leading scorer in franchise history, sitting currently with 9,841 career points. Curry, the current Hornets TV analyst finished his career with 9,839 points. The most impressive part of that feat is it took Curry 701 games to complete compared to the 517 games it has taken Walker.

On Thursday night, Walker took to Twitter to thank the fans for all the support on his way to becoming the team leader in points.

That wasn't the only franchise record he broke on Wednesday though. He also passed Gerald Wallace for the franchise lead in free throws made. Earlier this season the All-Star guard also broke Curry's record for most 3-point makes.

Walker, in his sixth season out of The University of Connecticut, has only played with the Hornets franchise. The big question now, though, is how much longer will he stay around.

He has said how much he loves it in Charlotte, but he also wants to be on a contender and with the Hornets missing out on the playoffs again he could get impatient.

There were rumors at the trade deadline that Walker might get traded. But for now, he is still with the team. With one year left on his deal, the Hornets are probably going to need to decide this offseason if they keep trying to build a team around their all-time leading scorer, or if it's time for the team to go in a different direction.
