Miles Bridges, the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, missed part of Sunday's NBA Rookie Photo Shoot because of a delayed flight.

Fans were quick to sympathize with 20-year-old forward.

Bridges did wind up making it to the event later.

Bridges was selected by the L.A. Clippers but was sent to the Charlotte Hornets on draft night. The youngster could have entered the draft year ago after his freshman year at Michigan State and been a shoo-in in the first round, yet he chose to stay for another year in college before entering the league.

The moved raised a few eyebrows, but he feels confident in his decision, per Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer.

“I told (teams) I stayed because I matured. And they respect that about me,” Bridges said. “I feel like I would have been ready for it, but I’m more ready for it now.”

The 20-year-old knows that there's still plenty of room to improve on his game.

“My ballhandling and creating my own shot,” Bridges answered. “That’s all they're worried about.”

Bridges put up 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game over his two seasons in East Lansing. The burly forward will try to help the Hornets return to the postseason after two consecutive disappointing campaigns saw them miss out.
