Dallas Mavericks starting point guard Dennis Smith Jr. has been dealing with a lingering right wrist injury and Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle doesn't know when the explosive guard will return to game action.

Dennis Smith Jr. initially hurt his wrist on Nov. 19. Since then, he has missed a total of six games, but not consecutively. Carlisle says Smith Jr. keeps falling on his wrist and re-aggravating it.

“I don’t know (when Dennis Smith Jr. will return),” Carlisle reported to the media on Sunday night regarding the Mavs’ timetable for getting Smith back in the lineup, via Mike Fisher of 247sports. “It’s Mother Nature. We’ll do whatever we can to facilitate it getting better quicker. But he keeps falling on it.”
