The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in acquiring Marcus Morris this summer, but their chances are not too high as they are facing strong competition for the veteran forward.
Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News confirmed that the Mavs are really eyeing Morris. However, he added that there are “a few ahead” of Morris on their list, knowing that he could prioritize signing with a contender. Dallas is also being linked to veteran shooting guard Danny Green, though they are not expecting a decision on Tuesday.
Confirmed Mavs' interest in Marcus Morris, first reported by @fishsports, but also am told Mavs have "a few ahead" of Morris. Mavs are not expecting Danny Green news until tomorrow at soonest.

Morris is expected to get strong interests from teams who are looking to improve their title chances next season. The 29-year-old spent the past two seasons with the Boston Celtics, where he made significant impact. In 75 games last season — including 53 starts — the former Kansas standout averaged 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
Marcus Morris, along with his twin brother Markieff, is reportedly waiting on how the market will play out before making a decision, per Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo Sports. Free agent superstar Kawhi Leonard has yet to make a decision, which is believed to be the main reason why other free agents are still playing the waiting game three days into the free-agency period.
