Anthony Davis has once again emerged as a starkly polarizing figure as the Dallas Mavericks wait on his return after a lingering calf injury. AD last played in the game against the Indiana Pacers and speculation about a potential trade has only risen after the firing of Nico Harrison.

Now, NBA Insider Matt Moore has shared his two cents on how the Chicago Bulls may as well emerge as a destination for the Mavericks superstar.

“Bulls fans won’t want to hear it because they want to avoid taking on the Davis contract (with a future extension on the table), but Chicago remains a team that makes the most sense,” he said, before proceeding to list out his reasons for believing so, per FanSided.

“They have Nikola Vucevic’s expiring contract, young players like Ayo Dosunmu or Coby White (if the Bulls don’t want to extend him after extending Josh Giddey), and a safe array of picks. If the heat turns up on Arturas Karnisovas, expect to hear more of them as a suitor, but it should be noted that AK has made almost zero trades since taking over,” he claimed.

Davis has played just five games this season following the nine he played for the Mavericks after joining them last season. While he is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting at an overall 54% from the field, his availability has been a constant issue.

Further, expectations have been high as he was majorly what the Mavericks got in return of Luka Doncic in the ill-fated trade that is largely seen as the reason why Harrison was fired. The Mavericks, dealing with AD and Kyrie Irving’s absence, have struggled at the start of the season, with Cooper Flagg being thrust into the role of the ball handler.

The Mavs have started the season 4-11 and speculation about an AD exit can only be expected to increase in the coming time.
