Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond is optimistic that he'll have a really good 2019-20 season, and he has reason to think that way.

After leading the Pistons in the playoffs where he averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds in their first round loss to the Milwaukee Bucks, Drummond believes that he can outperform himself next season. He told Detroit Free Press' Vince Ellis that he's working with assistant coaches Sean Sweeney and Tim Grgurich with the hopes that he can continue where he left off.

“(Sweeney and Grgurich) are like my left and right hand. I couldn’t imagine a better situation to be in than being with those guys, seeing them every day.”

The Pistons missed the services of All-Star forward Blake Griffin for the majority of their brief postseason run, but it was Drummond who stepped up to the challenge. Although they were swept, the team is optimistic that they already have something good going, and that all they need to do is to continue to work hard in order to be better.

Andre Drummond wants to be a driving force for the Pistons next season, someone who can dominate on the court on a nightly basis. He's already one of the league's best rebounders, but his improvement on the offensive end will definitely play a key role in Detroit moving forward. He believes he can do just that, and he's confident that he will have a career year next season.

“I just think it’s going to be a really good year for me. I’m excited.”

The Pistons aren't considered as a championship contender, but if all things go their way, who knows? They might break the longest postseason losing streak in NBA history next year.
