Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond didn't practice on Friday because of a stomach ailment.

This comes on the same day that ESPN reported the Pistons are having conversations with multiple teams around the league about a Drummond trade:

Drummond has a player option worth $28.8 million for the 2020-21 season with the Pistons. If he declines, the All-Star big man would become an unrestricted free agent after this season ends.

Drummond is likely going to look for a max contract on the open market, but he might not get it, according to James L. Edwards III of The Athletic:

There is a scenario in which Detroit could trade its franchise center this season. Again, it’ll depend on where the Pistons are in the playoff race by the time the deadline inches closer. There also is a scenario in which the Pistons could let him walk in free agency. And, of course, depending on if the Pistons can turn it around, he could return next year on a new contract. One source said Drummond likely will sign a new contract that averages somewhere between $20 million and $25 million annually, not the max.

Drummond is averaging 17.6 points, 15.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 blocks per game this season for the Pistons, who are 12-23. Andre is shooting 53.7 percent from the field and 61.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pistons could and probably should embark on a rebuild and trade Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose after moving Drummond, assuming they find a deal which works for them. The Pistons, barring some miracle turnaround, don't figure to make the playoffs this season.
