Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose and Carmelo Anthony were teammates for one season on the New York Knicks during the 2016-17 campaign.
Although Rose averaged 18.0 points per game with the Knicks, the former MVP dealt with a lot of adversity in his lone season in The Big Apple.
Rose left the Knicks without telling anyone before a game against the New Orleans Pelicans. His season also ended early after his fourth knee surgery.
Now on the Pistons, Rose looks like a new man off the court. He's smiling and playing really well for Detroit, although he's missed the last three games due to a hamstring strain.

Anthony, who is currently out of the league, spoke to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Heavy on Thursday and talked about what impresses him the most about D-Rose:
“I think just his commitment,” Anthony said. “His dedication to kind of like stick with it. Everybody counted him out. I was with him (in New York), so I know what he was going through mentally and physically.
“So for him to be back healthy now, mentally and physically, like you see that (first) step that everybody said he lost. He didn't lose it. He got faster. He got quicker. Worked on his body. Worked on his mind. And he's happy at the end of the day. I think that's the most important part.”
In six games this season for the Pistons, Rose is averaging 20.8 points, 1.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists. The Chicago native is shooting 56.2 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free-throw line.
Just like Tom Thibodeau gave Rose another chance with the Minnesota Timberwolves, hopefully there's a coach out there who will look out for Anthony and give him a shot at proving he's still an NBA-caliber player.
