For the second straight season, Derrick Rose is in the Sixth Man of the Year Award conversation. Last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Rose said winning the award was one of his goals, so naturally one would think that's still on the mind of the Detroit Pistons point guard.
However, Rose says he's not even thinking about the award since the Pistons are 10 games under .500:
“No, man,” Rose said, laughing off the thought of winning Sixth Man, via Will Gottlieb of Bleacher Report. “We're losing right now, so it's hard to have crazy expectations or think of it that way.”
The Pistons are widely expected to trade All-Star center Andre Drummond before the February trade deadline. Detroit also lost Blake Griffin to another left knee surgery on Tuesday, so it's looking likely that he misses the rest of the season.
Article Continues BelowThe Pistons are 14-24 on the season, putting them in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference standings. However, Detroit is only three games back of the Brooklyn Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday.

Derrick Rose has appeared in 32 games for the Pistons this season. The former MVP is averaging 17.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 5.8 assists while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 33.0 percent from beyond the arc and 87.8 percent from the free-throw line.
