Detroit Pistons head coach Dwane Casey will continue to start Derrick Rose until Reggie Jackson is cleared by the medical staff to play more minutes.
Jackson has played in just five games this season because of a back injury. Rose asked the Pistons for an extended role a few weeks ago and Casey began starting him on Jan. 15:
Derrick Rose, Tony Snell & Andre Drummond are all available tonight, Dwane Casey says. Rose will continue to start until Jackson is cleared for more minutes, he said.

Rose has been the best player for the Pistons this season. He’s averaging 18.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists while shooting 49.5 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from beyond the arc and 86.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Rose is garnering trade interest from a few teams with the trade deadline looming, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers. The vice chairman of the Pistons is Arn Tellem, who was Rose’s agent before he took that job. Odds are the Pistons’ front office will have discussions with Rose and his camp before anything goes down.
The youngest MVP in NBA history, Rose has scored at least 20 points in 12 straight games. The Pistons guard will look to make it 13 straight against Kyrie Irving and the Nets at the Barclays Center.
Rose and Irving had a great duel this past Saturday in Detroit. Irving put up 45 points, while D-Rose poured in 27.
Detroit is 17-31 on the season. They have lost three straight and are in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
