Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond has been flooded with numerous trade rumors over the past few days.
With the trade winds going stronger in Motor City, Pistons head coach Dwane Casey downplayed the rumors surrounding his All-Star center, per Rod Beard of The Detroit News.
#Pistons Dwane Casey says he's talked to Andre Drummond about trade rumors: "Most of the players in this league understand there's always going to be rumors; if you're about anything, you're always gonna have interest. If you're not producing … nobody's gonna be calling."

As the cliché goes, the NBA is a business and trade rumors are something that every player has to deal with at some point in their career. Moreover, as Casey alluded to, if you're a star in this league, the more interest you will generate.
Drummond is currently under contract for $27 million this season and has a player option in 2021-22 worth $28.7 million. The 26-year old can opt out of the final year of his deal and enter unrestricted free agency in the summer of 2020.

With the possibility of Drummond declining his player option, the Pistons might want to get some value for him instead of watching him leave in free agency for nothing. With that said, many are speculating that Detroit will move Drummond at some point before the February trade deadline.
Talks with the Atlanta Hawks have reportedly ramped up over the past few days. Likewise, teams such as the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks have also been linked with the Pistons All-Star.
Drummond has certainly established himself as one of the best big men in the game today. Teams in need of a final piece to add to their championship core will definitely consider trading for the frontcourt anchor that is in the prime of his career right now.
After putting up gaudy statlines and leading Detroit to a playoff appearance last season, Andre Drummond is putting up similar numbers this year with averages of 17.6 points and 15.8 rebounds to go along with 2.7 assists, 2.0 steals and 1.8 block.
