Trade discussions between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves revolving around D'Angelo Russell have reached a roadblock, according to a report from the San Francisco Chronicle.
The Timberwolves have been interested in acquiring Russell from the Warriors, who are struggling with injuries this season in the wake of Kevin Durant's departure. Minnesota has made an offer, but it sounds like it wasn't enough to spark Golden State's interest in dealing one of its best players.

Minnesota has long been interested in acquiring point guard D’Angelo Russell, and it recently offered Golden State a package for Russell that included shooting guard Andrew Wiggins. But to seriously consider dealing Russell to the Timberwolves, Golden State would need a compelling haul of draft picks, per league sources.
Letourneau reports the Timberwolves aren't currently offering their 2020 first-round pick, which is set to be high given the club's awful 15-33 record. The Warriors want that pick included, though it still might not be enough to make a deal, depending on the other parts involved.
With Stephen Curry (hand) and Klay Thompson (ACL) out of commission due to injuries, Russell has seen an increased role with the Warriors. He's making the most of this opportunity, posting career-high numbers.
In his 32 appearances this season (all starts), Russell has racked up averages of 23.8 points on 43.3 percent shooting from the field (38.3 percent from beyond the arc), 6.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and just under one steal (0.9) in 32.1 minutes per outing. However, the Warriors are just 11-39.
Russell, 23, would be a major upgrade for the Timberwolves, who are starting Shabazz Napier at point guard. Minnesota also recently traded veteran point guard Jeff Teague to the Atlanta Hawks.
This season's trade deadline is Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET. Will Russell be dealt between now and then, or will he remain with the Warriors?
