Golden State Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell wants to play deep into his 30s for two reasons.
One because he loves the game of basketball. And two because the checks which NBA players get are very, very lucrative.

D'Angelo Russell signed a four-year, $117 million contract with the Warriors this summer. The NBA salary cap keeps increasing every year, which means players will have the opportunity to earn even more money.
The shelf life of an NBA player is short, so Russell and other players should take advantage of getting as much money as they can.
Article Continues BelowLast year with the Brooklyn Nets, Russell had his breakout season. The lefty made his first All-Star team and led the Nets to the playoffs. Now, Russell will start alongside Stephen Curry in the Warriors' backcourt while Klay Thompson rehabs his ACL injury.
Russell averaged 21.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists last season while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.
The Warriors are looking forward to seeing Russell and Curry play together. In a loaded Western Conference, some believe the Dubs could struggle to make the playoffs since Kevin Durant is gone and Thompson will miss a big chunk of the season.
It's safe to say Curry, Russell and Draymond Green will be motivated to prove the doubters wrong.
