Golden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green likes what he sees from guard D'Angelo Russell.

Green says Russell plays at his own pace and doesn’t get sped up:

D’Angelo Russell will start next to Stephen Curry in the Warriors’ backcourt while Klay Thompson recovers from his ACL tear. The Dubs were fortunate enough to acquire Russell from the Brooklyn Nets in the Kevin Durant sign-and-trade deal this summer.

Russell averaged 21.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists last season for the Nets while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 36.9 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line. The Warriors are looking forward to seeing Russell and Curry play together. Both stars can light it up from deep and figure to mesh well, both on and off the court.

The Dubs will likely start Curry, Russell, Alfonzo McKinnie, Draymond Green and Willie Cauley-Stein once the regular season starts, although Cauley-Stein is dealing with an injury at the moment and might miss the start of the season. Curry, Green and Russell will have to carry the load on offense for the Warriors, who don't have the luxury anymore of giving the ball to Durant and letting him take over games.

Having three All-Stars in your starting lineup, though, is not something to be taken lightly. The Warriors should remain one of the best offensive teams in the NBA this season.
