The Golden State Warriors made sure they get to keep Jordan Poole for at least another year.

On Friday, the Warriors have exercised their team options for both Poole and 2020 second-round pick James Wiseman. As Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated noted, the options are for the 2022-23 campaign.

It's certainly a no-brainer move for the Warriors, especially since both Jordan Poole and James Wiseman figure to be critical parts of the Dubs' future in the post-Stephen Curry era.

Picking their options on Poole and Wiseman also gives the Warriors more time to evaluate the two and see where they'll fit long-term.

Wiseman is yet to make his debut this 2021-22 campaign as he recovers from a meniscus injury in his right knee.

Meanwhile, Poole has had an up-and-down stint so far as a starter for Steve Kerr, averaging 14.0 points on 40.8 percent shooting–albeit including 22.6 percent from deep. He had a couple of 20-point games in five matches so far, but he scored just nine points each in two other outings.

Despite Poole's struggle, Curry is not losing faith in his teammate and instead sees it as a positive sign for the 22-year-old. For one thing, he just needs patience.

“He wants it really bad. He wants to be great in this league. Honestly, you can see it, but it takes time, and for him, it’s just understanding that you don’t have to press every night,” Curry told ClutchPoints.

Fortunately for Poole, it sure looks like the Warriors are committed in his development.
