Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson is simply in awe of Draymond Green's performance on Saturday against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

It was an absolute masterclass from Green, as he anchored the Warriors' defense to shut down Jokic and the rest of the Nuggets. The Joker scored 25 points, but he needed 25 shots to reach that number–making just 12 of his shot attempts. Green was crucial as Golden State went away with the 123-107 win to take a 1-0 lead in their playoff series.

Naturally after the contest, Green's Warriors teammates couldn't hold back their praises. Thompson, for one, went as far as to saying that there is no better defender in the world than the 32-year-old forward.

“Draymond is the best defender in the world,” Thompson said, per Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.

After that showing against the Nuggets, it's hard to argue with Klay Thompson's declaration about Draymond Green. That is what Dray does best, and he showed once again why he is so important for the Dubs and their championship hopes.

For what it's worth, the Nuggets are probably not surprised by Green's performance. Ahead of the contest, head coach Michael Malone noted the threat Green poses for his team, adding that the reason they went 3-1 against the Warriors in the regular season was because of his absence. Green didn't play in the four games Golden State played Denver.

“He brings a completely different element from what we saw this season, and that’s probably a big part of why we went 3-1 against them. They are a much better team … when Draymond plays,” Malone said on Friday.

True enough, Dray gave the Nuggets all sorts of trouble right from the start. If he keeps playing like he did in Game 1, it's hard to see the Warriors losing in the postseason.
